At Connect Schools Academy Trust we are passionate about engaging the wider community into our schools.    Our early years specialists have designed our early education programme as a way to engage with children and their families before they even start at our schools. This 10 week programme is planned to help parents give their pre-schoolers the skills they need in order to have a positive and successful start to their school years. Throughout each session our session leaders will explain to parents how specific activities can help their developing child and how these can be continued at home.

The sessions will take place at Crofton Junior School, Towncourt Lane, Orpington BR51EL.   Sessions will be delivered on a Tuesday across 10 weeks. There are three session times that parents can choose to sign up for 09:30am, 11:00am, 1:30pm.   The cost of the sessions is £80 for the full 10 weeks. All sessions must be signed up for, there is no option for pay as you go.

Our topics for 10  weeks will be:

Musical Maestros- A hands on creative session in music making

Early Reading- An informative session on developing a love for reading based around some much loved classic tales

Magical Maths- An exciting and engaging session to develop children's mathematical knowledge

Multi Sports- An energetic games session to aid children's physical development and team skills

Forest Schools- A chance to explore our woodland with some favorite story characters

Cooking- A chance to get creative with healthy food in the kitchen

Messy Play- A super messy session designed to aid children's fine motor control and creative skills

Mad about Minibeasts- A chance to get up close and personal with some marvelous mini beasts

Fabulous Phonics- A session designed to promote children's early phonic skills

Creative Creations- A creative session for all of your princesses and wizards

Each session has been planned around a well loved story and contains active hands on elements as well as focused group time. Parents are actively encouraged to participate in the sessions with their children while our leaders explain how the specific skills taught in the session will develop children's learning. All parents are given a pack at the end of the session with ideas of how they can continue this learning at home to aid their children in a successful start to school.
